We invite you to a new exciting event and exhibition:

AUSTRALIE MYTHES ET REALITES - AUSTRALIA, MYTH AND REALITY.

Australia imagined, Australia dream, Australia myth and reality. Australia orientalised and exoticised. Looking for Australia in the imagination, coming to meet her...in your own gaze.
Australie Mythes et Realites is a unique event beyond Australia and Europe:
It is about who we are in each other’ eyes.

January 21st-February 5th, 2008
Foyer Maison des Sciences de L’Homme
54 Boulevard Raspail
PARIS, FRANCE.

NEW: The Exhibition will be open online from 14 January 2008 onwards.

Artists participating in Australia, Myth and Reality are based in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, US.
Their art- painting, sculpture, film, photographs, music, writing- explores their relationship with the land, in Australia and elsewhere, their origins, their aesthetics, their dreams, their at times ‘valiant struggle against all odds’, through’ text whose texture is not the mere record of reality’, at times desiring ‘to draw closer their worlds’ and dispel the haze of presumed distance, always daring to go beyond stereotypes, finding new voices.
By doing so they open a dialogue in full reciprocity that we would like to extend to all participants to Australie Mythes et Realites.

Curators: Renata Summo-O'Connell and John Hoenig
