Fractured Landscape

Fractured Landscape is one of a series of works based in the traditions of landscape painting while exploring the distinctions between painting as image and painting as object.

In a wider sense, the works also attempt to re-frame the landscape by trying to unravel the conventions of landscape painting while calling attention to the painting process.

The works are based on studies made from Watsons Bay leading into Sydney's Port Jackson.

Janet Haslett exhibits regularly in Sydney and regional NSW, and is currently an MFA candidate at the National Art School in Sydney.
